Self care has been a popular topic in recent years, and was thrust into the spotlight since the pandemic began.

What though, is self care? According to the World Healthy Organization it is: “the ability of individuals, families, and communities to promote health, prevent disease, maintain health, and to cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a healthcare provider.”


It’s about personally staying physically and mentally healthy so you can do your job, help others, and do the things you love. It’s a way to cope with stressors, anxiety, and feelings of depression.


While self care looks different for everyone, some examples include: maintaining a regular sleep routine, eating healthy, spending time in nature, doing a hobby you enjoy, and expressing gratitude.


When should you take some time to do self care? You should do it whenever you feel you need to! Consider establishing some self care habits you can practice everyday.
